When to brainstorm
After you lot receive your Life Scout rank, you should receive the Life to Eagle packet and the Eagle Rank Awarding grade. Some units provide this textile, other units may look you to get these items from your Quango Service Center. Yous will not need the Eagle Rank Application until after you complete your service projection.
To be eligible for the Eagle rank, you lot must earn 21 merit badges, perform a service projection of significant value to the community, and consummate some other requirements listed in the Scout Handbook. You may begin working on your service project anytime after you earn Life, regardless of the number of merit badges that you have earned. Y'all must complete all requirements earlier you attain your 18th birthday. The application and other administrative paperwork are non 'requirements', and then you lot don't have to submit them before your 18th altogether, simply the process for holding your board of review commonly begins when the awarding is submitted, and there is a time limit on the lath of review. You may have your Board of Review up to 90 days after your eighteenth birthday (this can be extended for sure situations).
Follow the instructions in the Life to Eagle parcel carefully. All the necessary steps are outlined in the packet and most of the cloth can exist used in the writing of the final study. Make several copies of the packet and of the Eagle Rank Awarding before writing annihilation. Brand all your entries in the copies and when yous are satisfied with your work, then fill out the original forms. - Eagle Service Project
Plan, organize, and direct a project of significant value to the customs. Your projection must be approved by your unit leader, unit of measurement committee, and council or district advancement commission before you actually begin working on the project. - Eagle Service Project Report
After completing the projection, prepare a report that discusses your project. Y'all may beginning your written report whenever yous feel ready. - Complete the additional requirements listed in the Sentry Handbook. And then, consummate and submit the Eagle Rank Application to your unit advancement person or Eagle advisor. You must complete all requirements before y'all achieve your 18th birthday. The application and other administrative paperwork are not 'requirements', so you don't accept to submit them before your 18th altogether, just the process for holding your lath of review usually begins when the application is submitted, and there is a fourth dimension limit on the board of review. Your Hawkeye Rank Application signed by the appropriate person at your Quango Service Center.
- Eagle Lath of Review
Afterward your Eagle Rank Application is signed, conform to have a Lath of Review. The Board should include a representative from the District Advancement Commission. If the Board does not accept your application, then the Lath must explain why the application was refused and what can be done (if possible) to correct any problems. You lot take the right to appeal the Board's conclusion. - Review by BSA National
After the Board of Review and after the awarding has been accordingly signed, render all your paperwork and a properly completed Advancement Report to the Council Service Center. Council will transport this material to National Headquarters for a final review, which normally takes about 4 to six weeks. If National accepts your application, you lot are now an Eagle Scout and your unit can begin planning your Eagle Court of Honor to laurels you with your new rank.
